ジプシージャズ(Gypsy Jazz)の創始者として、また偉大なジャズギタリストとして現在もなお、多くの人間に影響を与えている人物がジャンゴ・ラインハルト(Django Reinhardt)だ。
第一線で活躍した約20年の中で、自身をリーダーとして残した録音数は300曲以上。
現在、ジャズスタンダード・ナンバーは300曲以上あり、ジャンゴも多くの名演を残している。しかし、日本の青本・黒本に収録されている曲は残念ながらあまり演奏されていない。
その理由は、ジャンゴがプロとして活動していた期間が1928~1953年であり、現在ジャズブックに掲載されている曲が生まれる前であったこと、ジャンゴがヨーロッパ出身の為、クラシカルな曲が好みであったことが挙げられるだろう。
それでも「ジャンゴのソロを参考にしたい」というジャズギタリストの方も多いだろう。
そこで今回は、「ジャンゴが演奏した曲の中で、ジャズ・スタンダードとして認識されているもの」をリストアップしてみた。
日本のセッションで演奏されることが多い楽曲については、下線を引いておいたので興味のある方は是非、参考にしてもらいたい。
